What is the difference between the two auction types Live and Timed (time-limited auction)?

We offer two types of auctions, which proceed differently:

Live: Live auctions are traditional auctions held in auction houses. Our live audio and video broadcasts connect you with auction rooms around the world, allowing you to bid in real time over the internet and experience the full atmosphere (provided the auction house has chosen to stream an audio and video broadcast). You can always place bids, even if no audio & video transmission is offered.

Timed: In timed auctions, there is no auctioneer conducting the auction in the auction room. There is only a time-limited bidding window, and the highest bidder wins. You can recognise a timed auction by the end time displayed on the lot page and the auction being marked as a Timed auction as shown in the second image.
