You decide the maximum amount you want to bid, and "we" will bid on your behalf! Your maximum bid will only be used if necessary.
How to use this feature:
- You must be registered and approved by the auctioneer to bid, so that your maximum bid can be executed.
- You tell us your absolute maximum price by entering the amount in the field "Your maximum bid" on the lot page and then clicking on "Place bid".
- Be sure to read the terms and then click the "Confirm" button to ensure your bid has been placed.
- During a LIVE or TIMED auction, LOT-TISSIMO places your bid for you. Only the next necessary bidding increment is bid, which is required for you to remain the highest bidder.
You can view your maximum bids at any time. To do this, go to "My User Profile" in the header of the homepage and then click on "My current bids" displayed on the left.
In a live auction:
In a live auction (classic auction!), our system automatically executes your maximum bid up to the maximum amount.
You can adjust this bid either on the lot detail page on LOT-TISSIMO or on the live auction page.
In a timed auction:
If you leave a maximum bid in a timed auction, our system does all the work for you until the auction for the lot ends.
You can reduce your maximum bid, but only as low as the current price. This is because placing a bid in a timed auction constitutes a contractual obligation to purchase the item if you are the highest bidder and the reserve for the lot has been met.
