You can place a bid at any time during the auction period. The start and end dates can be found on the respective auction’s website.
You only need to tell us the maximum amount you are willing to spend on a lot. Use the specified bid increments for this. We will take care of the rest.
Don’t worry, we will assist you with bidding, so you don’t have to remember the bid increments.
Here is an example of bid increments in a timed auction:
| Current Price | Bid Increments |
|---|---|
| €1 – 20 | €1 |
| €20 - 50 | €2 |
| €50 - 200 | €5 |
| €200 - 500 | €10 |
| €500 - 2,000 | €20 |
| €2,000 - 5,000 | €50 |
| €5,000 - 10,000 | €100 |
| €10,000 - 20,000 | €200 |
| €20,000 - 100,000 | €500 |
| €100,000 + | €1000 |
You tell us your maximum bid and our system will automatically bid on your behalf. Bids will only be placed high enough to meet the reserve and keep you in the lead up to your maximum amount. Your maximum bid remains confidential until it is outbid by another bidder.
You can see your “current bid” when you log in and go to the lot page (it is often below your maximum bid). If your maximum amount is outbid, we will notify you by email so you have the chance to bid higher.
When the timed auction ends, the bidder with the highest bid wins the lot. If a bid is placed in the last 10 minutes of the auction, the auction will be extended by 10 minutes.
